I've decided to create a blog, so myself, and others can follow the journey I take through life ---- At least for a while. I've recently graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation. I'm excited to begin my career and I look forward to the seasonal jobs and adventures I hope are in my path. To start, I will begin an internship at Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge in about 2 weeks. Although the internship doesn't pay well, I believe it will pay in experience. My primary duties will include assisting refugee biologists with the monitoring of an endangered species of woodpecker --- the red cockade woodpecker. I stole the image below from the internet, but hopefully I'll have my own shortly. I don't have enough money-in-the-bank to buy my own good camera so I take my iPhone camera, zoom in, then match it up with the scope on a pair of a binoculars. It actually works pretty well!
I'm pretty excited to say the least. I can't wait to start.

I'm a bit intimidated though. I think I'll be
working with a few bird people, and although i'm super interested in birds, I know they'll out-smart
and out-identify me by a long shot. I just hope i'm not disappointing any of them.So this week before I start I'm going to try and study up on birds, plants, and insects before I get there!
Here are a few shots I've taken in the past few days using my phone/ binocular combination.
These photos were taken at Eagle Lakes Community Park and Sugden Regional Park in Naples FL.
That's all for now folks! Later
